10 Questions

Oehser asks

9. Will the Colts re-sign LB Tyjuan Hagler? As Caldwell said when discussing the issue last week, you never say never, but he said the Colts haven’t had serious discussions in that direction. Hagler became a free agent after last season, and although the Colts signed him as a free agent in a similar situation last off-season, there doesn’t seem to be a push from the team to pursue him this off-season.

10. Will the Colts be better next season? That could happen. Manning has shown no signs of a decline and key players such as Powers, WR Pierre Garcon and WR Austin Collie will be entering their second seasons playing. If WR Anthony Gonzalez and Sanders can stay healthy, the Colts have a very real chance to be a more solid, consistent team. That may not show up in a better record – it’s hard to win 14 games no matter how good you are – but if the above players contribute at a higher level than last season, the Colts could be a more playoff-ready, championship team than they were last post-season – impressive for a team that came within a half of winning the Super Bowl last season.
