Bad news for the UC secondary. Dominique Battle has a torn lateral ligament and is out the rest of the season. He played in too many games to redshirt, 4, so it’s basically a lost year for Battle. He was the senior member of the secondary, having started every game, and 12 games last season. Battle only had 6 tackles and a sack this season. He was coming off a 52 tackle, 2 INT sophomore season. He was the UC newcomer of the year his freshman season. This is a huge blow to lose your most established defensive back. Battle has been banged up in a couple of games this season, and things just never went according to plan. Cam Cheatham will take over as the starter. In another note of injury news, Drew Frey should return next week, after a head injury (concussion?) kept him out of the OU game.
