XKO 8 Primer

By

For a couple of years now, Arlington-based Xtreme Knockout (XKO) has quietly built themselves up to be the most stable professional MMA promoter in North Texas.  Sure, Frisco-based promoters Supreme Warrior Championship and Steele Cage MMA may host more shows, or feature higher profile fights, but XKO continues to plug along slowly building a name here in the DFW.

Now, it should be noted that XKO owns their own expansive training/venue facility, which makes their overhead much more manageable.  But, rather rest on their laurels with a subprime product, XKO has featured countless fan-friendly battles in their square cage.  Simply put, when XKO announces that they are putting on a show, you can expect three things: 1) the show will go on 2) the fans will show up, and 3) the fights will be competitive.  It’s a formula that seems simple in theory but is becoming more of a rarity in the realm of local fight promoting.

This Saturday night, Xtreme Knockout will host XKO 8 which is slated to be arguably their biggest fight card to date.  Not only will the card feature 11 competitive matches, it will also mark the very first XKO title fight when Roy Spoon takes on Chris Jones for the XKO welterweight (170 lbs.) championship.  Also aiding to the festive atmosphere will be a bikini contest, live music, and MMA vendor booths.
