Soulard Mardi Gras Leads Monday Ramblin’s…;athooks

I don’t know who made the point that people who go to Mardi Gras in St. Louis are lightweights… but it’s kind of true. Anyone can have a big time in Soulard Mardi Gras Leads Monday Ramblin's...;athooks New Orleans, but to brave the shit weather that STL gives revelers every year takes a real commitment to booze that I don’t think many American communities have. You’re one of the few and the proud if you came out this weekend…

David Freese was scratched this weekend after fouling a ball off his foot. TLR and MGMT (not the band) have expressed hope he’ll start today and play  3B for the first time this spring. But let’s talk turkey here- dude is snake-bit as any player I’ve seen for a while. I have about a 0% confidence rate that he’s going to just play today and continue to play the whole spring and then start on opening day. Something’s GOING to go wrong. And with Nick Punto getting his scrappy juvinated, the Cards need to get a backup IF off the waiver wire soon…

You know it’s a good Mardi Gras party when people are tweeting at you about being at a random house with a Cards Diaspora sign that happens to BE your house. LINK HERE

Cardinals cut roster from 61 to 52 on the way to 25 Sunday. Amongst those re-assigned to minor league camp were top prospect Shelby Miller (1 appearance 2.0 IP 0.00 ERA) and Zack Cox (2010 1st round pick)…

I happen to like the NBA, but you probably don’t. Because you’re white and a racist. But for those people who’s stock answer on why they don’t watch the NBA is something along the lines of “they don’t care about the regular season”, then read THIS and remember you can’t have it both ways and make fun of them for being babies…

Chris Carpenter was up and throwing a bully session Sunday in Florida. Good news for the Cardinals (LINK HERE), but I’m hearing from multiple anxiety riddled fans that Carp’s seasons are usually totally injury free or complete disasters. They think that we could be in for the latter. I’m too lazy to look this up and see if they’re right…

Got the opportunity to go to the Mayor’s Ball for the first time Friday night. And even though the weather (of course) blew, the event was A) awesome B) attended by all the heavy hitters in STL and C) hopefully subsidised by YOU. I mean really, I deserve to be treated well with your taxes. (PIC HERE)…

Usually The Bachelor reunion shows before the finale are crap. But Michelle Money knows she’s got one last taste of fame and I have a feeling she’s going to hit a home run for the viewing public.
