GreenLight Madness: Celtics Top 64 Plays (#11 Seed vs #54 Seed)

Last night the Miami Heat took a 2-1 series leads against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals.  It seems like months ago that the C's were dropping Game 5 in Miami.  Today's GreenLight matchup takes us back to that night and features one of the good lasting memories of the Celtics' 2011 season.

With Rajon Rondo relegated to the bench with a bad back and dislocated elbow, Delonte West stepped up in crunch time for the Celtics.  He defended Dwyane Wade about as good as one could hope for and knocked down some key shots.  But his dunk in the fourth quarter was quite impressive, as was the C's lead at the time.

Seed #11: Delonte Climbs the Ladder – After Wade drives to the basket and loses the ball, Ray Allen is there to grab it and pass it up to Delonte who breaks out.  Delonte throws down an emphatic two handed slam, then takes Chris Bosh on a ride for good measure.  It gave the Celtics an 83-78 lead with just under 7 minutes remaining, and we all know what happened from there.

Delonte is also featured in the next clip along with Jeff Green.  During the same game when Shaq's season essentially ended against Detroit in April, Delonte and Green combined on a solid alley-oop.  Jason Maxiell loses the ball underneath the hoop and Paul Pierce is able to get control of the ball and fire it ahead to Ray Allen.  Ray passes to Delonte who notices a streaking Green and executes a great alley-oop as he gets pushed by Charlie Villanueva.  Much to Tommy Heinsohn's chagrin, there is no foul called.
