North Texas Fighters Make Noise Over the Weekend

You have to crack a smile when you consider the fact that the rest of the United States is slowly beginning to recognize the crucible of talent that is North Texas.  While fight promotions may be few and far between locally, the young men and women who make their living by rending foes unconscious are taking the talents out of state and making noise in the process.

Fitness Fight Factory fighter Evan Cutts improved his professional MMA record to 2-0 with a second round guillotine submission over Derrick San Miguel Saturday night in Oklahoma.

Phalanx MMA Academy diminutive pitbull Anita Rodriguez (4-1) scored a second round rear naked choke over Erica Torres at the Lucky Star Casino in Concha, Oklahoma.  The fight was promoted by C3 Fights.

Also in action on the C3 Fights card was Arlington-based Team Takedown prospect Jared Rosholt who improves to 3-0 with first round verbal submission (due to knees to the body) victory over Robert Haney.  The fight is Rosholt’s third in three weeks.

NWC/Phalanx fighter James Vick made his professional Muay Thai fighting debut with a fourth round knockout victory (body shot) up in Minnesota.
