Once again, Red Wings GM Ken Holland is making the rest of the NHL his bitch. Holland signed former San Jose defenseman Ian White to a 2-year deal worth just under $6 million per season. And, contrary to the ideas that the picture below gives you, White doesn’t suck.
For those that aren’t familiar with White’s game, I offer this: Brian who? White should fill Brian Rafalski’s vacant role with ease at a much lower cap hit. If he continues to put up the numbers he did in San Jose, there’s a good chance he’ll see a much longer contract offer from Holland in two years.
