Reminder: Small Market, Big Heart airs today on FOX 40 at 4pm

Missed the premiere two weeks ago at the Crest Theater?  Here’s your chance to make up for that.

Directed by Tobin Halsey and produced by Blake Ellington and Cowbell Kingdom’s own James Ham, Small Market, Big Heart will air locally today on FOX 40 at 4 pm.  The documentary about the Sacramento Kings relocation saga has generated substantial buzz and garnered positive reviews from those who’ve watched.

Having seen the movie, I can vouch for it.  A film of this magnitude would often times take years to produce.  I came away incredibly impressed with what they made in just six months.

The film features interviews with a number of key figures in Sacramento and Kings history, including former owner Gregg Lukenbill, radio play-by-play voice Gary Gerould, Sacramento Bee columnist Marcos Breton and mayor Kevin Johnson.

The broadcast does coincide with tonight’s Kings/Memphis Grizzlies contest, which tips off at 5 pm.  However, the film wraps up at 5:30 pm, so you won’t miss much of the game if you don’t have DVR.

If you can’t watch tonight, don’t fret.  The filmmakers are working on getting it distributed and broadcast on other television outlets as well.  We’ll keep you posted if and when it airs again.
