Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie wasn’t happy with a couple of strike calls during last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays. And by “wasn’t happy,” I mean he did his best Delmon Young impression and hit the home plate umpire with his helmet. Check out the video before it gets yanked down by the MLB video five-oh.
It doesn’t look like Lawrie actually meant to hit said ump, but that doesn’t matter. He’ll probably be facing a serious fine and suspension, which is more than I can say for the idiot that committed a serious crime by throwing his beer. I’d imagine that a cup of LaBatt’s flies better than a 10-dollar bill though, so to each his own.
