The focus in Sacramento continues to center on the potential sale of the Kings to Seattle-based investors led by hedge fund manager Chris Hansen.  On the docket for today’s show, we bring in Rob McAllister of CBS 13 to report on yesterday’s bankruptcy hearing on Bob Cook’s minority share.  In segment two of the podcast, one of the 21 Sacramento businesspeople backing Kevin Johnson‘s effort to bid on the Kings joins us for a conversation.  Local real estate developer Phil Oates shares some insight on Monday’s meeting with potential majority owner Mark Mastrov.

Excerpt

Oates on Mastrov’s vision for the Kings:

The thing that was so impressive about him – because I mean he’s a very successful man, and he was humble.  He was communicative.  He actually did more listening than talking.  And the thing that I pulled away that just has got me even more excited than I was a week ago is that he isn’t just buying a team to own a team.  He believes in excellence.  He believes in success.  And when he owns this team and when we have a new arena, we’re not just going to be out there rolling the balls out.  We’re gonna be on the road to becoming what we used to be maybe ten years ago.
