What to watch

1. Does Ben McLemore find his groove as a starter?

McLemore laid an egg in his first career NBA start on Wednesday.  The rookie scored two points and shot just 1-for-8 from the field, while veteran Marcus Thornton lit the Nets up for 24 points off the bench.  Coach Michael Malone has said that the rookie will get a long look at the position, so the 20-year-old out of Kansas needs to relax and make the most of his opportunity.

2. Who wins the battle of the bigs?

Cousins and Thompson are going to have their hands full with Drummond and Monroe.  The Kings passed on Drummond in the draft a year ago in favor of Thomas Robinson.  Robinson is now in Portland, while Drummond has developed into one of the game’s most promising young defensive centers.  Monroe has been extremely productive this season, averaging 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for Detroit.

3. Will the Kings bring the energy?

Kings fans are planning to sell out Sleep Train Arena, as they hope to make a run at the Guinness World Record mark for loudest indoor arena.  If the Kings’ players can match the intensity of their fanbase, they should come away with a win over a talented, but young Pistons team.
