2013: A year to remember in Sacramento Kings history

It’s hard to put into words what 2013 has been like for the Sacramento Kings community. It’s been a year filled with the lowest lows and the highest highs. An improbable year that nearly brought the Sonics back to Seattle at the expense of the Kings. A year that saw David Stern stand up to one of his owners and stop an injustice. A year that saw Mayor Kevin Johnson assemble an ownership that not only saved the Kings, but promised to revitalize Sacramento with a new downtown arena.

All of this incredible news and that was just the first five months of 2013.

This year was not for the faint of heart. It wasn’t for the casual fan and it certainly wasn’t for quitters. A community stood tall in the face of insurmountable odds, and for the second time in three years, fended off elimination.

As we close the books on 2013, it is time to take a look back at some of the more memorable moments from this crazy year. We were there to capture the stories as they happened, so here is a glance back at the highlights and low-lights of a roller-coaster year in Kings history.
