According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Sacramento Kings have parted ways with Fat Lever, longtime Director of Player Development and part-time member of the Kings’ broadcasting team.  Lever joined the organization in 2007 and was one of the few remaining members of the Geoff Petrie regime.  He shared player development duties with assistant coach Dee Brown during the 2013-14 season.

The 53-year-old Lever also played 11 seasons in the NBA, finishing his career with averages of 13.9 points, 6.2 assists and 6.0 rebounds.  The two-time All-Star retired following the 1993-94 season and has worked with the NBA Cares and Legends of Basketball programs.

Tiffany Valdez, Senior Manager of Basketball Administration, was also let go by the Kings.  Valdez had spent the previous 13 years in various roles with the organization, including three seasons as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations during the Petrie era.
