Neymar Brace Lifts Host Brazil Past Croatia in 2014 FIFA World Cup: Thanks to two goals from F.C. Barcelona talisman Neymar, Brazil easily won their 2014 FIFA World Cup Group A opener, 3-1, over Croatia.

After conceding a Marcelo own goal in the 11th minute, Neymar would put the five-time World Cup champions level with a goal at the 29th minute. Neymar would add another tally on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to put the Selecao up for good.

Oscar would add a third goal for the heavily-favored Brazilians in the 91st minute to secure the host’s first day triumph.

Cesc Fabregas Completes Move to Chelsea: After landing former Atletico Madrid’s forward Diego Costa, Chelsea continued their run on La Liga players in landing the 27-year-old former Arsenal and F.C. Barcelona midfielder, Cesc Fabregas. Fabregas, who played in North London for the Gunners, spent the last three seasons in Nou Camp. According to reports, the Spaniard’s move to Chelsea is for five years and €33 million.

Carmelo Anthony To Miami? According to ESPN basketball insiders Brian Windhorst and Chris Broussard, the Miami Heat are exploring options in landing soon-to-be free agent forward, Carmelo Anthony. Anthony, who can exercise his early termination clause this coming summer, is the top priority of the New York Knicks.

With LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh’s opt-out clause due this summer, it is reported that “The Big Three” are willing to re-sign at a lower salary to make room for Anthony—should he decide to test free agency.
