Sacramento Kings to analyze second round to undrafted talent in Monday workout

Just days ahead of the NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings will hold another prospect workout on Monday.

The six-man session will feature mostly second round to undrafted talent.  Keith Appling (Michigan State), Deonte Burton (Nevada), Mike Dixon Jr. (Memphis), DeAndre Kane (Iowa State), Jarred Shaw (Utah State) and Aaric Murray (Texas Southern) will showcase their talents for the Kings in the workout.

Of the six players who are participating, Burton is the only prospect projected to be selected on Draft Express’ latest mock draft.  The website currently projects the 6-1 point guard out of Reno to go 48th overall to the Milwaukee Bucks.  In his senior season with the Wolfpack, Burton averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists over the course of 32 games.

The Kings hope to have a few more workouts ahead of the draft, which takes place next Thursday.  Kings assistant GM Mike Bratz suggested Friday that they’re trying to bring some players back for return visits if they can make arrangements with their agents.  He also noted that they’ll try to look at forward Julius Randle if they can work something out with his representation.  The Kings have not gotten a chance to see the former Kentucky forward in a workout setting so far.
