The Sky is Falling!

How many of us remember the story of Chicken Little?

From the panic and outrage I’ve seen around the internet I feel most of us have forgotten Chicken Little.

Games aren’t won or lost on paper. We haven’t even seen the final roster yet and many fans have already thrown in the towel. This reminds me of the off season the year we won the pacific and went to the western conference finals. No one thought we’d do anything that year either.

We have zero idea of how this group will play, let alone if this is the final roster. There’s approximately two months until camp. There is time to sign another player. There is time for a trade to shake out closer to or during camp/pre-season.

Why don’t we all take a collective deep breath, a step back and relax? Wait until the real hockey (i.e. not camp/pre-season) starts and then we can make some determinations and opinions on if the Coyotes are good or bad. And I bet if they don’t go well the first half of the season we will see some midyear changes. The owners want to win but they also need to think in terms of what is best for the business. They cannot fan-boy out. I think small steps now are good. They can’t expect the fans to come back overnight and the fans can’t expect for the owners to turn it around in an instant. We all need to practice some patience. I know, I know… it’s difficult.
