Here is the latest news live from Sleep Train Arena:

  • The Sacramento Kings (17-29) face one of their toughest matchups tonight when they take on their neighbor from the west in the Golden State Warriors (37-8).  The Kings are fresh off a win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night after losing a season-high eight straight.  After a streak where they won 13 out of 14, the Warriors have dropped two of three.
  • The last time these two teams faced off 11 days ago, Klay Thompson scored a career-high 52 points on 16-of-25 shooting.  The sharpshooting two-guard set an NBA record for points in a quarter with 37 during a wild third period where he went a perfect 13-for-13 from the field.  It will take a team effort to slow the high-scoring backcourt of the Warriors tonight, but second-year shooting guard Ben McLemore will get the first shot on Thompson.  “We hope that the guy who gets hot is on our side,” coach Tyrone Corbin said during pregame.  “We know the efficiency of their guys on offensive end.  We saw a great exhibition in the way that Klay was shooting the ball in that third quarter.  We know they can score in bunches and multiple guys can score.”
  • DeMarcus Cousins (left ankle sprain) and Carl Landry (right wrist sprain) are listed as probable for the Kings and are expected to play.  Rookie Eric Moreland is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.  Warriors big man Festus Ezeli has missed time with a left ankle sprain, but according to coach Kerr, he is active tonight to face Cousins.
  • NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will to attend tonight’s game and spoke to the media before tip-off.  “I was there when Vivek (Ranadivé) presented his vision for what a new arena could be like in Sacramento, along with Kevin Johnson, and the fact that it’s a reality is incredible to me,” Silver said.  “I can’t wait to be here for opening night with that new building.”
