Three things to ponder

1. Derrick vs. DeMarcus

When Derrick Favors was picked two spots ahead of DeMarcus Cousins in the 2010 draft, a wild west rivalry was born. Cousins developed much faster, with a double-double to show for his career, but Favors has started to hit his stride as of late, averaging 14.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks his past two seasons. Both bigs like to play physical and near the rim, so a battle at the pivot should ensue.

2. Ball control

The Kings don’t take care of the ball, bordering neglect, but the Jazz happen to be the second-worst team in the NBA at forcing turnovers. It’s a perfect storm for uninterrupted, free-flowing offense, but Sacramento has been creative at finding new ways to shoot their own feet this season.

3. A triple or two

In Tuesday’s loss to the Mavericks, the Kings made 3-of-21 (14.3 percent) attempts from behind the arc. The 29th-ranked team in 3-point makes per game this season hopes to improve on those numbers playing the Jazz who place 28th in opponent 3-point accuracy (37 percent).
