Disgruntled Patrik Elias

We don’t doubt that Patrik Elias will some day have his number in the rafters along side Stevens, Daneyko, Niedermayer and (someday soon) Brodeur. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make him the subject of our “Just Shut Up” award this week.

“If they want to play me on the fourth line, I’m not willing to do that,” Elias told NJ Advance Media.

Elias is finishing off the second campaign on his three-year, $16.5 million deal. His numbers have been lackluster this season (10-18-28, 56 GP), but keep in mind the Devils are one of the worst scoring teams in the NHL.

He’s confident there would be teams interested in him and what remains of his contract if the Devils don’t want to utilize him the way Patrik Elias feels they should.

This Devils team may be an even bigger disaster than the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. There seem to be disgruntled players everywhere on the roster.

Sadly this organization that was once a model franchise due to its success has fallen so far. Your time has come Lou, please exit graciously.
