Greg Hardy Agrees on 1-yr Deal with Cowboys

It’s official, Greg Hardy has signed on with the Dallas Cowboys.

Over the past two free agent seasons the Cowboys have been quiet until the second week of free agency, and this year is the same. Going into week two, the Cowboys have been in hot pursuit of one of the best defensive talents in the league with Hardy.

The Cowboys have agreed to terms with Hardy and they immediately bolster their defense immensely with the new addition. Outside of the off field issues, Hardy has been a menace for opposing QBs since his debut in 2010.

Under Ron Rivera’s watch, Hardy steadily jumped up with his sack production, which the Cowboys lacked a great deal last season. Now under Rod Marinelli’s watch, Hardy could reach even more success on the field.  Hardy will get to the QB, collapse the pocket and other defenders will have opportunities to get to the QB. The defense could look like a frenzy of sharks in 2015 with Lawrence, Mincey, Crawford and others all getting in on the action more than ever before.

I had been saying the Cowboys defense mirrored the 1991 defense and the addition of Hall of Famer, Charles Haley in 1992 raised the level of defense to a championship level squad – we now have that with Hardy onboard.

The Cowboys can now focus on upgrading the secondary and linebacker groups. If Kevin Johnson (CB, Wake Forest) is there at #27, I’m taking him and not looking back. Stockpile playmakers on defense and let’s get that ring!
