Jets coach Paul Maurice praises the Blues

Prior to their game against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night, Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice had some pretty kind words for his opponent. In fact, he went as far as saying the Blues are the best team in the NHL.

Maurice’s comments Via STLToday:

“I think St. Louis is the best team in the League. So we have to be at our very best, shift-to-shift. They have been tight games because for the most part we have done that, but we’re going to need a little bit better in everything that we do.”

You can certainly debate whether or not the Blues are the best team in the league, but it’s fun hearing such high praise for the Blues coming from an opposing coach. The Jets have skated against the Blues three times so far this season and have gone 0-2-1. One of those losses came on Barret Jackman’s shot from the neutral zone, but the bottom line is that the Blues have narrowly defeated the Blues in three attempts.

The Blues and Jets will skate against one another tonight and again on Tuesday, April 7th.
