Dane Brugler from CBS Sports has released his latest NFL Mock draft and has given the Cowboys a cornerback, and he also notes the risk in the player.

27. Dallas Cowboys — Marcus Peters, CB, Washington: Brandon Carr has disappointed and Morris Claiborne has been the one blemish on an otherwise flawless first round résumé for the Cowboys the last five years, making cornerback a need in this year’s draft. Peters has his baggage, but the reward out-weighs the risk at this point.

I like the pick here of Peters. I would also like Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest myself, but it’s sounds more and more like he may be gone by the time our pick rolls up. Peter’s at #27 makes a lot of sense for Dallas for the exact reason’s Brugler lays out.

For me Brandon Carr play does not match his contract and Morris Claiborne is a full-blown bust and to think it’ll turn on for him is just being delusional. He hasn’t played well, and with the injury his confidence takes another hit. The Cowboys need to look at the secondary as if they have two holes: a started outside CB and and starting slot CB. I would not be surprised if the Cowboys double-dip on corners for this draft.
