Wrigley Field’s bleachers might not be ready for Opening Day, but the ballpark’s brand new video board will be.

The Chicago Cubs unveiled their 3990-square-foot video board in left field on Thursday and three things were immediately made clear.

One. The thing is massive. How big? Check out this graphic.

Two. The video board will not interfere with the team’s iconic hand-operated scoreboard in center field.

“We respect Wrigley, and this is a different place than an arena or a newer ballpark where you might see more creative things,” Cubs senior marketing director Alison Miller said. “We think we have great stories to tell about our players and our history, and (will be showing) stats. That’s what our fans told us, and we’re going to stick with that as our content.”

Three. There will be no shenanigans allowed on the Wrigley Field video board. Meaning…no “30-second auto commercials”, no in-show hosts and absolutely, positively, no Kiss Cams, Limbo Cams or the like.

“We are not intending to put any of that content on the left field board,” Miller added. “We’re doing a video board. We have a scoreboard.”

We’ll see how long that whole “no commercials” thing lasts.
