Boxscore Breakdown #51: Price check – Angels 4, Tigers 2

Just when the Angels had us all doubting them (again), they go and sweep the Tigers. Sure, they are a struggling team in their own right, but a four-game sweep is no easy task, especially when one of those games comes against David Price. This was a game the Halos easily could’ve just rolled over for, considering the series a success having already won the first three. They didn’t though. They fought throughout the whole game right through Johnny Giavotella‘s game-winning hit.

Chris Iannetta also continued his redemption tour. The rest of the Angels really didn’t do all that much though even if nobody actually had that bad of a day.

Andrew Romine somehow had an RBI, which is just a shocking thing for him, but he did also bring up the RE24 rear.

Matt wasn’t all that great, but in a different kind of way. He only allowed one extra base hit, but he uncharacteristically walk four batters.

Bullpen Battle

He’s quickly been thrust into a prominent setup role, but it is looking to be obvious that he isn’t ready for it just yet.

That edge got quickly erased thanks to poor defense the next inning, fortunately Giavotella avenged his costly error with the game-winning hit.
