Bruins Announce Partnership With The Gwinnett Gladiators

Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney took to the podium today announcing that the Bruins would be expanding the franchise. They would do this by reaching an affiliation agreement with the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Gladiators are team in the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League); this partnership will allow the Bruins to designate players within the system to the Gladiators.  

The Gwinnett Gladiators were founded in the 1995, at first they were called the Mobile Mysticks until 2003 when they changed to the Gwinnett Gladiators. The home games for the Gladiators are held at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. This multimillion dollar complex opened in 2003 and also host basketball games and concerts. The Gladiators have taken home 3 division championships (2005-2006, 2011-2012, 2012-2013) and 1 conference championship (2005-2006).

The Bruins were very happy to announce this partnership as Don Sweeney said “Working with a proud franchise and being a part of the passionate fans in the Duluth community will provide a tremendous opportunity for our young players to continue to grow and help them to reach their full potential as professional hockey players.”
