During the 1945 World Series, the owner of Chicago’s famed Billy Goat Tavern put a curse on the Cubs because, naturally, they wouldn’t let him bring his goat into Wrigley Field.
Monday night, a group of competitive eaters (naturally) have banded together in hopes of breaking the decades long curse and 107 year championship drought by, you guessed it…eating a goat.

On hand at Chicago’s Taco in a Bag to attempt the feat…restaurant owners Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti and Tim Brown, Kevin “L.A. Beast” Strahle, Bob “Notorious B.O.B.” Shoudt and former hot dog eating champ Takeru Kobayashi.
“It’s never been done before and I’ve been wanting to eat a goat for years,” Bertoletti told The Hall. “The stars aligned, Kobayashi was in town…so why not?”
Now, it should be noted that there’s not currently a world record established for mutton eating, but can we all agree that devouring 40 pounds of goat in just under twelve minutes is, probably, something that is most definitely Guiness-worthy?
