Eagles/ Blue Devils Preview

Duke is only the 2nd ACC team Boston College has faced thus far into the season. BC for the first time this year, is the away team going to Durham, North Carolina to face a unique team which could give them a fight for the win. Duke’s impressive win over ACC opponent Georgia Tech (ranked #20 at the time) was a crucial point for the Blue Devils into the season. Duke holds a 3-1 record like BC and has only faced one ACC team (GT).

QB Thomas Sirk has shown dual threat abilities which BC needs to be aware of. Sirk has thrown for 6 TDs and has rushed for 2 scores but has 267 yards of rushing under his belt. BC edge rusher Harold Landry needs to be dependable this game as he has shown brightness for NFL scouts and opposing teams. The young Landry tore up the Seminoles offensive line multiple times and has all the power to tear up Duke. Boston College DB Justin Simmons as always will be in charge of the secondary as he will be a crucial part of most pass plays from Duke. The 6’3 back has been a secret among the national stage except for the Florida State game since most coaches pointed him out as a top player on the defensive side of the ball. If Simmons has a wild game, his draft stock will rise increasingly.

Duke’s weapons of destruction includes RB Shaq Powell, who is another one of those running backs who can be the protocol running back while being the elusive wide receiver that can pick up needed yardage. K Ross Martin is another key part to this Duke team. Martin has not missed a field goal this year and could be a crucial part to a victory.
