On October 17, 2015, Dallas’ Super Lightweight Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker (18-0-2, 14 KO’s) will be fighting Ghislain Maduma (17-1,11 KO’s) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada on the undercard of the mega fight between World Middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO’s) and David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO’s).

The fight will be held at Madison Square Garden, the boxing mecca in New York, New York. This will probably be the toughest fight for Hooker in his young career and it is scheduled for ten big rounds. This is only the second time in Hooker’s career that he has fought in a ten rounder, but in his last ten round fight, he captured the vacant WBO/NABO Super Lightweight Title by stopping Eduardo Galindo (10-1-1, 7KO’s) by TKO in six rounds in Dallas, Texas.

Hooker, who fights out of the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym in Dallas, Texas, has been training with Vincent Parra, his trainer, in California at the Wild Card Boxing Gym and reports are that he is more than ready for this fight.

That doesn’t surprise NTF because Hooker always comes ready for all his fights, and destruction of his opponents is always on his mind. Hooker is ranked #10 by the WBO after his TKO of Eduardo Galindo (10-1) and the names of Lucas Matthyse and Ruslan Provodnikov are within that top ten list. Speaking of Provodnikov, Hooker has sparred with him in the past and reports from that outing are that Hooker tested him very well. In addition to Provodnikov, Hooker has sparred with other world champions, including Miguel Cotto, the reigning WBC World Middleweight Champion.

Hooker’s manager, Arnie Verbeek, is moving Hooker along and has kept him busy with
five fights in 2014 and this fight will be his third fight in 2015. Hooker, a top prospect, is one of several stars on the boxing scene from Dallas, Texas, and he is on the path to becoming the next world champion from Dallas, the last being Curtis Cokes, former WBC and WBA World Welterweight Champion in 1966.
