The Pontiac Silverdome has been a depressing rotting structure for years. In fact, the dome has been long gone as shown in this video below:
In the spring, the process of demolishing the Silver(dome) will begin.
The ‘dome opened in 1975 and there have been a lot of memories there. 80,000+ fans drunk on honolulu blue and silver made for some noisy Sundays, especially when Barry Sanders was ripping off 80-yard touchdown runs and accumulating 2,000 yards in the 1997 season. The Pistons played there for 10 years. There was a Super Bowl XVI. A mass with the Pope. DCDS football championships with me running post routes before the game.
