Patriots Settle For Second Seed

After an action packed Sunday of Football the schedules are now set and we are ready for the road to San Francisco to play out. But the road may only be making one stop in New England as with the disappointing loss to the Dolphins and a Broncos win the Patriots fell to the two seed. The Patriots are now getting set to play one of three opponents, the Bengles, Texans, or the Chiefs.

Being the two seed there is now a chance that we will have to play the Broncos in Denver for the AFC Championship. But before we talk about the AFC Championship we have to win the divisional which is a little scary to me if we have to play a hot team like the Chiefs as they have won 10 straight games. There last lose coming to the Vikings on October 18th. The fact we have not played them in the season and the last time we played them was the Monday night meltdown where we lost 41-14 scares me a little. I would be much happier playing the Bangles or Texans.

I found this loss to the Dolphins a hard one as I am a true believer of the home field advantage. I wanted to play all of our games at Gillette. There still is a chance if Denver loses in the Divisional round but the odds as of right now are not in our favor. But home field means just about nothing to Belichick as after yesterday’s game he said “we don’t really have any control over that. I mean, whatever it is, it is and wherever we play, we play. We’ve just got a lot of work to do.”

Next weekend will be a packed on as on Saturday the Chiefs will take on the Texans at 4:35 PM and the Steelers will take on the Bengals at 8:15 PM. Sunday will be Seahawks vs. Vikings at 1:05 PM and Packers vs. Redskins at 4:40 PM.
