A non-conference clash with Central Michigan on Thursday night marks the end of the road portion of the Wisconsin wrestling team’s schedule.

The Badgers and Chippewas will face of for just the sixth time in the history of the two programs. Wisconsin leads the all-time series 3-2. The Badgers won the most recent meeting back in 2010 by a count of 20-13.

CMU enters the dual with an overall record of 9-5. The Chippewas feature ranked wrestlers at four weight classes.

Wisconsin is 3-7 on the year. Six of UW’s seven losses have come at the hands of ranked opponents.

The Badgers have two ranked wrestlers: Isaac Jordan, who moved up to No.2 at 165 pounds after last week’s win over (then) No.2 Bo Jordan of Ohio State, and No.12 Ryan Taylor, who fell from the No.7 spot after a loss to (then) No.12 Geoff Alexander of Maryland.

Jordan is also ranked No.17 in FloWrestling’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Neither Jordan nor Taylor is scheduled to face a ranked opponent tonight, but both bouts are important.

Jordan is seeking to extend his 21-match win streak that dates back to last season.

A win would put Taylor back at .500 during his injury-shortened season.

Tonight’s match will be aired live on ESPN3 beginning at 6 p.m.

The Badgers return home Sunday for the regular season finale against Northwestern.
