The State of the Blog

Dear Mitch,

In case you haven’t noticed… This blog has been much like the Pontiac Silverdome in recent years, in ruins with the occasional random visitor. Its history is as rich as it is a current cesspool, waiting to be demolished. I’ve thought about it, destroying this blog. As is obvious, I ultimately err, er, decide to not destroy this blog.  Coincidentally, though, the last real post on this blog was 113 days ago on the imminent wrecking ball that will soon come into Pontiac and take down the Silverdome (cue Miley). I have no idea who the fuck Hugh Parsons or Joe Webb are.

There will be no such ill fate for this blog.

HAVING SAID THAT, beyond that, I’m Derek Zoolander looking into a puddle on the side of the curb. I don’t know what this blog will be. I don’t even know what the network that hosts us is anymore – Bloguin? Sports Daily? The Comeback? One of the blogging world’s greatest mysteries. Notwithstanding, when all is said and done, hopefully Detroit4lyfe will be a fun stop for Detroit sports fans.

Detroit4lyfe will need help, though.

If you’re a die-hard Detroit sports fan, I’m hiring. Please hit me up at [email protected] or @detroit4lyfe on Twitter if you have a hint of writing ability and a sense of humor and you are interested in being a part of this blog returning to its mid-season form. Early successful applicants have a chance to play a large role, possibly make more than $17 per month, and perhaps even take over managing editor duties one day (the last two major players on this blog are now managing editors for Detroit team sites at SB Nation, so this can be your gateway drug to greener, cleaner pastures).

I love you,

-Bobby B
