Badgers host Northwestern in regular season finale

Sunday marks the end of the regular season schedule for the Wisconsin wrestling team.

The Badgers (3-8, 2-6 Big Ten) play host to Northwestern (2-12, 0-8) at the UW Field House in the final dual before the Big Ten Tournament.

The Wildcats enter the match fresh off their second win of the season, a 20-19 non-conference win over Duke on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Badgers are hoping to end the dual season on a positive note after dropping an 18-11 decision to Central Michigan earlier in the week.

Like Wisconsin, Northwestern has a pair of ranked wrestlers in its lineup. Jason Tsirtsis, who was an NCAA champion in 2014, is currently ranked sixth by FloWrestling at 149 pounds and Jameson Oster is N0.16 at 141.

For the Badgers, Issac Jordan is No.2 at 165 and Ryan Taylor is No.12.

A win for Jordan would extend his 21-match winning streak, a run that dates back to last season. A victory for Taylor would put him above .500 this season for the first time since starting the year 1-0.

Sunday is also Senior Day as the Badgers bid a formal farewell to redshirt seniors Brock Horwath and Brett Hoechstaetter.

Horwath is 55-44 in his career at UW, including a 13-13 mark this season, his lone year as a starter.

Hoechstaetter, who has missed this season due to injury, is 22-21 in his collegiate carer.

The dual is set to begin at Noon and is also available for viewing on BTN2Go.
