Ryan Tannehill wouldn’t mind if Dolphins draft QB

Ryan Tannehill has started every game at quarterback for the Dolphins over the last four years, but says he’d be OK with the team drafting a quarterback this year.

“No, I wouldn’t be offended at all,” Tannehill told the Miami Herald.

The Dolphins had the No. 8 pick in this year’s draft but traded it to the Eagles for the No. 13 pick along with Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell. Tannehill was the No. 8 pick in the 2012 draft.

With a 29-35 record as a starter and no playoff appearances, it’s nice to see Tannehill knows his place and would welcome a little competition for his job. But he has a right to be a little selfish here.

He’s been sacked 184 times in his career and in each of the last three years he’s been among the three most sacked quarterbacks in the NFL.

Perhaps he should be offended if the Dolphins draft a quarterback, or anything other than an offensive lineman.
