Ravens RB Trent Richardson has lost more than 20 pounds

Normally, the only reason someone like Trent Richardson would be getting any attention at this time of the year is because he’s on a list of the biggest all-time NFL draft busts.

A lot of people might have forgotten, however, that Richardson is still in the league. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens last week and according to the Ravens’ website he’s a little more chiseled these days, down from 240 pounds to 218.

The Browns drafted Richardson third overall out of Alabama in 2012. He gained 950 yards in his rookie season but averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. He was traded to the Colts during the 2013 season but didn’t fare any better and was released after the 2014 season with a career average of 3.3 yards per carry.

Losing weight might help, but ultimately Richardson will need to do a better job finding and running through holes than he did in this widely circulated photo.

Richardson is in a Raiders uniform because he played for the Raiders during the 2015 preseason but didn’t make the team. Now the slimmed-down Richardson has his work cut out for him trying to make the Ravens.
