Take the All-Star game for what it is but the Red Sox will be heavily represented. As a total of 6 players from the Red Sox will be taking the trip to San Diego to play in this year’s All-Star game. This year’s All-Star game will take place on Tuesday, July 12th with the home run derby the night before on the 11th.

David Ortiz, Xander Bogerts, Jackie Bradly Jr., and Mookie Betts all have received the most votes for their position and have earned a spot on the team.

This will be David Ortiz tenth All-star game appearance. Ortiz would comment on it by saying “I think it could turn out to be something really special.”

And believe it or not, two Red Sox pitchers were also selected to be on the All-Star team. Craig Kimbrel and Steven Wright have earned the right to participate in the event. Will we see them pitch? Probably not but it good they got selected.

But wait there still is a chance there could be a seventh Red Sox on this year’s All-Star roster if he wins the “Final Vote”. So go vote for Pedroia so we can see him in San Diego on the 12th! Voting ends on Friday.
