Preseason Recap: Lightning 5 – Predators 3

Steven Stamkos had three assists,  Jonathan Drouin had a goal and two assists, Ondrej Palat, Brayden Point and Nikita Nesterov each had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay, who beat the Nashville Predators 5-3 in their preseason finale. The Lightning face the Red Wings in the season opener Thursday night at Amalie Arena.

Brayden Point and Joel Vermin certainly look like solid replacements for holdout Nikita Kucherov and the injured Ryan Callahan on Thursday night.

Goalie Ben Bishop stopped 14 of 16 shots in two periods of play.

Five Lightning players had multi-point nights: Drouin: 1G-2A and a game high six shots, Nesterov: 1G-1A, Palat: 1G-1A, Point: 1G-1A and Stamkos: 3A.
