And Introducing John Stamos as Brock Holt

When “Scream Queens” returned to FOX in September for its second season, it brought with it a very familiar name.

Well, actually, two of them.

Joining the cast…John Stamos as the very charismatic (and incredibly dreamy) Dr. Brock Holt. Hold on, “Uncle Jesse” as Brock Holt?

You better believe it.

The big question. Was the character named after the Red Sox utility man or is it simply a coincidence?

What say you, internet?

A quick Google search of the show’s co-creator Brad Falchuk reveals that it might be more of the former than the latter. The current boyfriend of Gwyneth Paltrow is from outside Boston and uses a picture of Tom Brady as his Twitter avatar. Add to that the fact that he once cited David Ortiz as an inspiration and I think it’s a no-brainer.

Also, this might explain why the three doctors dressed as members of the 1986 World Champion New York Mets ended up (spoiler alert) mercilessly slaughtered in the second episode of the new season.
