GAMEDAY 4: Penguins play again for some reason.

game_04

Last night we saw a glimpse of what the NHL is going to be, and it was fun. Teams like the Avs are built on speed. They were before the Penguins won the cup, but Patrick Roy fucked everything up. But, the point is, more and more teams are going to this model. The Habs are so-so on speed. They have that stupid fucker named Gallagher who’s fast as shit, though.

We went to the Habs website to get some info, but couldn’t get past these two dudes:

Did the coordinate the belt thing? Way too bizarre.

Always fun in Montreal

Just something special about watching games in Montreal. Maybe it’s because you’re always yelling at Hab fans to shut the fuck up because they are crying over basic hockey plays. It’s October 17th and honestly it’s a little early to care that much.

Montreal Player To Watch

Shea Weber

OTTAWA, CANADA – OCTOBER 15: Shea Weber #6 of the Montreal Canadiens isn’t as good as PK. Subban.

One of the dumbest things to happen this summer was the Habs trading P.K. Subban for Shea Weber. Weber is ok, but Subban was dynamic. Horrific trade. It’s great news for the Penguins though. Subban was a pill to play against, Weber doesn’t scare anyone.

Storylines To Watch

Paul Steigerwald non-stop history lesson.

One of the downsides to the Penguins 50th season is that Paul Steigerwald is going to make us relive every year. We get it, Paul. We swear to god he told a story about Les Binkley’s ball sac last night. Also, does Steigerwald make anyone else root against the Penguins every so often? Just us? Ok.

Michel Therrien watch

When Therrien got fired from the Penguins he’d often be spotted at local casinos. If the Habs struggle out of the gate you might be watching the next Penguins game with Therrien at the Racer Lounge in Washington, Pa.

Is Scott Wilson good?

Preseason media darling Scott Wilson has done literally nothing to earn his minutes. Gotta score a goal, man.

Prediction

Home opener in Montreal, Penguins off a back-to-back so this is tough. However, don’t discount Mike Condon ( if he plays) going back to Montreal and beating his former team.

Heart says Penguins 5-4 in OT. Smart bet is Habs 4-2.

Fuck you, eh.
