Game 5 Recap: Bolts Play Complete Game, Beat Sens 4-1

Steven Stamkos scored the game winner and Vladislav Namestnikov, Alex Killorn and Valtteri Filppula each netted goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning downed the Senators 4-1 last night in Ottawa.

Goalie Andrei Vasilevxkiy was superb, stopping 27 of 28 shots earning his second win of the season.

Craig Anderson made 31 saves for the Senators.

The first period was fast and furious as the Bolts dominated the Sens and outshot them 14-4. Neither team was able to score as has been the case with the Lightning all year long in the first stanza.

The second period saw the Lightning score consecutive power play goals just four minutes apart as Vladislav Namestnikov and Steven Stamkos each scored to put the Lightning up 2-0. Ondrej Palat and Anton Stralman got assists on the Namestnikov goal and Vladdy and Nikita Kucherov got the assists on the Stamkos goal. For Stamkos, it was his third goal in five games.

Later in the period Senators enforcer Chris Neil got his own rebound and scored to make it 2-1.

At 9:02 of the third period, Alex Killorn scored his fourth and team leading goal of the season to put the Bolts up 3-1. Jason Garrison earned the assist.

Valtteri Filppula sealed the deal with a breakaway goal at 18:03, assisted by Brayden Point.
