Gameday 7: Glen died on the Walking dead

game_07

It’s too bad Glen on the Walking Dead wasn’t a republican, then you wouldn’t have seen any mention of him at all on Twitter.

Nothing highlights the horrible state of our world like people logging on twitter to bitch about other people talking about a TV show on twitter. Twitter, for us, became a no-fly zone as soon as it was revealed it was suppressing news.

It’s kind of what the Penguins, and some of their fans do to old Double J.

To a lot of dumb young yinzers, because their idiot parents think Jaromir Jagr sucks, Jagr is an enemy. The Penguins, for their part, do little to give Jagr credit for anything.

” ..uhh shut up Pensblog, what do you want the Penguins to do? Give Jagr a tribute every time he is in town?”

Yes.

Hopefully this all changes when he is retired. It’s unsettling that some people will grow up thinking Pascal Dupuis was a better Penguin than #68.

Game by the Numbers

0 – Carl Hagelin points this season. If this keeps up the next thing Primanti’s will name after him is a bathroom stall.

-6 – Penguins goal differential this season.

7 – Games started by Marc-Andre Fleury this season. Most in the NHL thus far.

2– Games straight Scott Wilson has scored in. Starting to come alive.

19 – OT Game winners by Jaromir Jagr.

Crosby getting closer

From the PG:

“Going out there today, being able to go through a regular practice, it means you’re headed in the right direction,” Crosby said. “It’s a little easier to stay motivated and stay upbeat about it.”

Great quote. What would we do without the media?

Someone should ask Malkin why he stands for National Anthem to shake things up.

Jonathan Marchessault

No clue who this guy is, but he has seven points so far.

Pranking Gene Collier

If you ever get bored, and feel like hating yourself, prank the Nightly Sports Call. If you can survive actually having to listen you get something like this:

Around the NHL

  • Conner McDavid leads the NHL in scoring.
  • Rangers are playing well. [ NYRBlog]
  • How bad to Rich Walsh handle that Gene Collier sequence by the way?

Prediction

Florida always lays a big time egg in Pittsburgh. If Crosby is back, expect a big bump for the Pens. But Florida is no joke.

4-2 Panthers.

It’s only October, don’t take things too seriously.
