NFL Network analyst wants to see Eagles put a bounty on Ezekiel Elliott

Cincinnati Bengals v Dallas Cowboys

The NFL doesn’t like the word “bounty” for obvious reasons.

It stands to reason the league will have a problem with one of its NFL Network analysts, then.

Brian Baldinger, a former offensive lineman, took to a radio interview recently and said he wants to see the Philadelphia Eagles go after Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott:

This is the guy that that we’ve got to hurt. This is the guy that we’ve got to take out of the game. There’s got to be 10 guys that want to hurt him every single play. In fact, we may even put a little bounty on Ezekiel Elliott.

You want to cut off the head to kill the body, that’s the guy you’ve got to get to.

Baldinger went on to say he simply doesn’t like Elliott, and specifically mentioned his distaste for him over the way he dressed at the NFL draft.

These are idiotic comments at best, as a professional getting in front of a camera should know how to better describe wanting a team to shut down an opposing running back. Instead, Baldinger resorted to Gregg Williams-esque comments about cutting off the head of the snake and yadda yadda.

For what it’s worth, Elliott has been unstoppable through six games, rushing for 703 yards and five scores on a 5.1 per-carry average. Now he has a little extra motivation going into the game against the Eagles, which features heavy NFC East implications.
