Tom Brady admits the Jamie Collins situation could happen to him someday

New England Patriots v Buffalo Bills

The world acted shocked when the New England Patriots decided to ship star linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns…but imagine if it had been Tom Brady.

Crazy. Something only reserved for Madden, right?

Maybe not. In an interview with Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Brady admitted anyone could suffer the same fate:

Yeah, absolutely. You can’t be around this long and not realize that the world will keep spinning and the sun will come up tomorrow without you. That’s just the way it goes. I think you enjoy the experiences that you have and also understand it just keeps going on. It could happen to anybody. You just have to show up to work, do the best you can do every day and let your performance just try to speak for itself.

Right, Tom.

Brady doesn’t seem to age and does seem to have a good head on his shoulders. By the time his body can’t produce numbers at an elite level, it seems a safe bet he’ll hang up the cleats. Until then, the Patriots aren’t shipping away arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play.

This is Brady simply waxing poetic thoughts for the sake of doing so while once again having to shrug off a seemingly crazy move by Belichick. He’s not wrong about almost anyone getting traded at any point, but he’s one of maybe five exceptions in the league to the rule.

Seriously, we’re talking about a guy who might reel in the MVP this year after missing four games. He’s completing 73.1 percent of his passes with 1,319 yards and 12 touchdowns to no interceptions over four games.

But sure, Tom, see you on the Browns in 2020.
