Replay: Grabner’s Magic Puck Trick Gets Rangers Rolling

NHL: Edmonton Oilers at New York Rangers

For a guy who’s known for his goal scoring rather than playmaking and passing ability, a no look pass off Grabner’s stick that somehow squeezed through the skates of two Oiler defenders is incredible. Factoring in his less than stellar hands, a play like this almost seems implausible:

Grabner hasn’t received the attention he probably deserves considering the many other storylines around the Rangers this season, but he has struck some chord alongside Miller and Hayes on that third line which has been the Rangers best line running since they were put together a week ago. Grabner’s six goals at even strength is tied for the league lead with four other players and he’s well on his way to his best season since scoring 34 goals with the Islanders in 2011.
