After a five hour rain delay NASCAR drivers were finally able to get racing in Texas to crown a winner. Austin Dillion had the pole for the now Sunday night race.

When the cars finally started the cars will driving a whole bunch of laps trying to get some extra heat into the track.  The race went green / yellow finally at 7:55pm est.   The race finally went green on lap 6 and Joey Logano was able to get the race lead.  Joey continued leading laps until the competition caution finally came out on lap 29.  The leaders pit and Joey Logano won the race off pit road.

Next up was a long green flag run with Joey Logano leading more and more laps.  Around lap 74 we got the first green flag pit stops of the night.  After the green flag pit stop ended it was Joey back into the race lead.   The caution finally came out on alp 109 for Brian Scott that smacked the wall..  The caution brought in the leaders with Joey Logano leading the race off pit road.  A short green flag run occurs and at lap 117 it was debris caution.

Joey Logano was back to leading more green laps as the green flag racing continued until lap 144 as Paul Menard hits the wall.  The caution brought in the leaders with Joey Logano keeping the race lead off pit road.

We get a new long green flag run this time and time around lap 187 we get a new round of green flag pit stops.  After they were over Martin Truex Jr. was in the race lead.  Around lap 223 we get the start of green flag pit stops.  After they were over Martin was back leading green flag laps.  At lap 255 we finally get the next caution as Austin Dillion does a major slide job in turns 3-4.  The caution brought down the leaders and Carl Edwards won the race off pit road.

We get a short green flag run this time and Austin Dillion smacks the wall hard while Casey Mears when through the grass and really destroyed his car. Around this time rain was getting close to the track again. At lap 290 it was the caution for rain.  Four laps later and that cars were down pit road and stopped for the red flag.  A couple minutes later and Carl Edwards was called the winner at Texas.

“We got a shot at the championship,” said Carl Edwards.

Joey Logano stated that the rain came sooner than he wanted to.

“Kinda all over the place,” said Kevin Harvick on his car.  He also said there was no intent to wreck Austin Dillion.

“Tough deal on the restarts,” said Denny Hamlin.
