Blues unveil the Winter Classic jerseys you’ve probably already seen

The Blues have officially unveiled their Winter Classic jerseys. The previous sentence may not sound overly enthusiastic because the jerseys leaked out roughly a week ago and the official version matches the leak.

Leaks aside, the jerseys are pretty sharp. They’re a recreation of the sweaters the team wore back during their inaugural season.

No complaints here. The design is a conservative one, but there’s not necessarily anything wrong with that. It pays tribute to the team’s roots while also being a modern throwback. Trying to tinker with things any further may have ended poorly.

Will this new uniform become the new alternate for the Blues?

The Blues’ ownership has already stated they want to move away from the current/old alternate as it was designed and created under the direction of the old owners. That’s where their statements have ended, but it implies that the team will use something new in the near future.

The club has already distanced itself from its old third sweaters (the one with the arch in a circle) and has instead been wearing their usual home sweaters at every home game. Without making an announcement, it looks likely that the Winter Classic jerseys will become the team’s new alternates in the new calendar year.
