WATCH: Conor McGregor KOs Eddie Alvarez, puts on perfect performance

UFC 205: Alvarez v McGregor

Conor McGregor became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two title belts (145 pounds, 155 pounds) after absolutely destroying Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on Saturday night.

McGregor barely even got hit, and fought a perfect fight to dispatch Alvarez, who wasn’t able to take Conor to the ground, not even once. In fact, it was the Irishman who got him on the ground at one point, but it was the flurry of vicious punches he landed to Alvarez’s face that was the difference.

And it was this vicious combination that did Alvarez in. The referee smartly stopped the fight, because it was clear that nothing good was going to transpire afterwards.

The thrilling victory concluded with McGregor sitting atop the ring with both belts like a boss.

UFC 205 was an excellent card, and that should be a sign that New York will now host many more great fights for years to come.
