Los Angeles Rams have a great chance of landing Adrian Peterson

Chicken-and-Dumplings-1

The Rams are set at starting RB with Todd Gurley, but could badly use a capable backup like Peterson. But would AP want to serve as a change-of-pace back behind a stud like Gurley?

Currently the Los Angeles Rams have backup running back Benny Cunningham, but the past two years he has dealt with injuries or setbacks. The past two seasons Cunningham has played in 27 games but only totaled 251 yards. Yes, he is a backup running back, but could Peterson have a couple more seasons of shinning in the LA spotlight?

Peterson turns 32 next month, is coming off knee surgery and averaged 1.9 yards per carry in three games last season. But most observers think AP still has some great football left. That’s why a slew of teams are in the mix for his services.

From BookMaker.eu: Adrian Peterson’s team in Week 1 of 2017 regular season

  • Green Bay Packers +250
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +500
  • Oakland Raiders +750
  • Los Angeles Rams +1000

It is very surprising the see the Rams this high up the list to land Peterson, but if you really think about it, they have all the necessary tools to lead him to Los Angeles. New Head Coach, New Mission, Los Angeles Spotlight, and of course playing with leader Todd Gurley.

Drafted seventh overall out of Oklahoma by the Vikings in 2007, Peterson was named the offensive rookie of the year after rushing for 1,341 yards, second best in the league that year. He went on to lead the NFL in rushing in 2008 (1,760 yards) and 2012 (2,097, the second highest single-season yardage total in league history), when he also won most valuable player honors.
