Celtics Remain on Top After Cavs Loss

The Celtics may have lost to Milwaukee earlier in the week, but that hasn’t knocked them down. The Cavs have continued their cold streak in March, losing their latest game against the Bulls.

The Celts were in the hot seat after a tough loss against Milwaukee. Against a weaker team and playing at home, the C’s weren’t able to secure a victory. The Bucks are one of the teams that offer a tough match up for Boston. The Bucks used their strengths, length and height, to dominate Boston. The Celtics were outscored in the paint by 12, and Greg Monroe seemed to pick apart the C’s at every point. Monroe plays like an old school big man; back to the basket and plays physical. The Celtics have no one to match up with a man like that, and killed Boston because of it.

The Cavs have been uncharacteristically poor in the month of March. They finished the month 6-10 and have fallen in the standings to second place. The Cavs have more games to play than the Celtics, which should give them a better chance to make up their losses, but at this rate it isn’t looking good. Lebron and company are playing with no urgency or hustle. One of the biggest causes for concern is their defense. They currently rank 23rd in defensive efficiency. For a team that wants to make a run at the championship, that’s a little scary. Of course this is still a team that has Lebron James.

We’ll be keeping our eyes on these teams as the teams finish their season. Mark your calendars for next Wednesday when these two teams face off for the final time this season.
