NBA Playoffs: Game 1’s

What have we learned after the first games in the NBA playoffs? What was a flash in the pan and what was a vision of more to come? After two days of playoff action, there are plenty of story lines to look at.

Cavaliers vs. Pacers

In the opening game of the NBA playoffs, King James showed why he is one of the greatest players of all time. He finished with 32 points and 13 assists with several thunderous dunks to count. Even with James’ stellar performance, the Cavs barely escaped with a win. Paul George and the Pacers came within one point of upsetting the Cavs, and had the final shot. George was upset he wasn’t able to get the final shot and will look to change the outcome tonight.

Bucks vs. Raptors

One of the big upsets in game one had the Bucks dominating the Raptors IN Toronto. Giannis Antetokounmpo showed why he is most likely the most improved player this year. The Greek Freak scored 28 points with crazy efficiency at 72%. Not to mention he dunked on what seemed like every member of the Raptors. Kyle Lowry is still trying to get back into NBA shape after sitting out the end of the season with an injury.

Hawks vs. Wizards

The Wizards and John Wall put on a clinic taking down the Hawks. Wall dropped 32 points and 14 assists showing he is still the leader of Washington. The Hawks fought hard, but it was clear that the Wizards were more physical and more determined to win.

Celtics vs. Bulls

Only a few hours after learning of his sister’s passing, Isaiah Thomas suited up to take on the Bulls. He came up short however, despite his game high 33 points. If the Celtics are looking to win the series, the bench needs to help out the little guy. We’ll see if they can rebound better and score more when they play again tomorrow night.
